02/07/08-0152 Hours- stranraer lifeboat launched on service by clyde coastguard to search for possible casualty after 1 red flare was spotted at the end of lochryan by a member of the public. started search from lady bay round to corsewall light house back round to wig bay where the ILB was recovered. closed down with clyde coastguard 0440 Hours. nothing found.

28/06/08-0416 Hours- Stranraer lifeboat launched on serviced by clyde coastguard to assist stranraer police with suicidal female threatening to drive her car over the edge of stranraers west pier. The ILB was put on standby at the station. Police managed to negotiate to talk her down. ILB stood down 0700. Closed down with Clyde Coastguard 0700 Hours.

07/05/08-1445 Hours-Stranraer Lifeboat launched on service by Clyde Coastguard to a 12ft fishing boat drifting away from the immermesan area as the elderly owner could not get the engine to start, the boat was also slowly taking on water. the lifeboat crew prepared and transfered the hypothermic man off the fishing boat to the ILB. where he was met by ambulance crew at the stranraer harbour. He was later released from hospital the same day recieving no further treatment. closed down with Clyde Coastguard 1650 hours.
